A healthcare facility is any location where functions related to the provision of emergency or routine health-related services to individuals or the community, or health-related supporting services, are located. Healthcare facilities include direct patient healthcare services, public health agencies, healthcare educational facilities, healthcare supporting facilities, end-of-life facilities, and regulatory, oversight, and industry organizations. This data set contains facilities that are staffed full time or part time, and may be private or governmental entities. This data set does not include facilities related to the provision of emergency medical services (EMS) at the scene of an incident and during transport of victims to hospitals; non-human healthcare facilities, such as veterinary clinics; or locations for facilities that are deemed sensitive by data providers. This data set was created for general mapping of healthcare facilities within southwest Idaho to provide a common picture for emergency responders and public safety personnel, as well as the general public. This data set serves a similar function to the data provided by the Homeland Security Infrastructure Program (HSIP); however there are no restrictions on data access to this data set. This data is an aggregation from multiple data providers. The geographic area of coverage is limited to what is provided from contributors; not all healthcare facilities for southwest Idaho are included.
